The media darlings among Bundesliga coaches:

To find that out, we teamed up with FCBinside analyzed over 8.3 million German-language digital articles about clubs—including over 400,000 articles about their coaches—from June 2025 to May 2026 from over 430 million sources (online media, news sites, Facebook, X, forums, blogs, communities, etc.).
An Overview of the Results
In total, over 8.3 million fragments related to the 18 Bundesliga clubs were found. Over 400,000 of these also mentioned the coach; in the remaining nearly 8 million, the coach was not mentioned.
In terms of purely quantitative visibility, the coaches of Eintracht Frankfurt (Riera / Toppmöller / Schmidt), Borussia Dortmund (Kovac), and FC Bayern Munich (Kompany) led the way.
In terms of quality, the coaches of FC Bayern Munich (Kompany), TSG Hoffenheim (Ilzer), and SC Freiburg (Schuster) took the top spots.
The coaches of FC Augsburg (Baum / Wagner), 1. FC Union Berlin (Baumgart / Eta), and Werder Bremen (Thioune / Steffen) had the greatest impact on their clubs’ reputations.
In terms of overall reputation (which is composed of the components listed above), the coaches of FC Bayern Munich (Kompany), FC Augsburg (Baum / Wagner), and Borussia Dortmund (Kovac) take the top three spots.
The analysis was conducted as follows
This analysis was conducted using AI-based software that was customized and extensively trained.
As a first step, all digitally available articles and social media posts related to all clubs and their coaches in the 2025–2026 season of the Bundesliga were collected.
Only German-language articles were analyzed.
All posts were then analyzed for their tone. A distinction was made between positive, neutral, and negative posts, which were taken into account in the reputation calculation.
The study provides data-driven insights into the public perception of Bundesliga coaches. In addition to a quantitative and qualitative ranking, the study also answers the question of which coach has the greatest influence on his respective club—both positive and negative.
